Here I will place some links to articles or sites about writing that I found useful and/or of interest. I will also post up some of my own thoughts and insights as I get time to do so:


Agents and Publishers

A fantastic publisher of childrens and young adult books and very supportive of New Zealand writers (especially me!): Scholastic

Looking for an overseas agent (ie not from New Zealand) then try AgentQuery.

Podcasts

The secrets is a podcast that Michael A. Stackpole puts out to go with the 'magizine' of the same name: The Secrets Podcast

A blog by an Australian agent, who answers writer's questions. There is some very usefull information to be found here: Call my Agent!

A blog by an assistant at a literary agency who talks about why manuscripts are turned down, and answers readers questions: The Rejecter

A free webzine for writers, full of usefull information, including writiing articles, reviews of writing software, book reviews and so on (there is also a section for young writers): The Scriptorium

As the "principal advocate for the professional interests of writers, the New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc) is open to writers of every genre, published or unpublished New Zealand Society of Authors
